Boot Memorial Hero & Remembrance Run, formerly known as the Fisher House Hero & Remembrance Run, Walk or Roll, was started in 2012 by Theresa Johnson, to honor service members, by recognizing the names and faces of all who lost their lives through combat of service to our country since September 11, 2001.
This display has grown over the years to includes not only KIA, but also non-combat related deaths, training accidents and others. This memorial is to honor their SERVICE, not the way they died.

If you are a Gold Star Family, a friend or anyone who knows about the death and would like to request that the Service member be added to the Boot Memorial display and recognize their service to our country, please click here.
I wanted to do something to honor, not only Pfc. Timothy Vimoto, but all of the fallen Service members. When I started this, there were about 6,400 boots. Today, there are more than 8,000 boots in our display.
Our Mission
The mission is to create a memorial display that fosters a safe place for peace and healing for our Gold Star Families, Battle Buddies who served beside the Fallen and our communities who supported them.
Our Vision
Boot Memorial Hero & Remembrance Run honors the 8,000+ service members, by recognizing the names and faces of ALL Service members who lost their lives in combat and through their service of our country since September 11, 2001.
